Annual Customs Programme A current picture of your customs position, every year

A Customs Review is a picture of your customs position at a date. The Annual Customs Programme reviews it again each year, so that your board has a current one.

— THE PROBLEM

Customs positions change. A review that stands still does not.

Your products, suppliers, countries and trade agreements change during the year, and so does the way your team works. A customs review dated two years ago describes the business as it was then.

A review that is carried out once is easy to leave. The Annual Customs Programme gives the review a regular place in your year.

WHAT CHANGES

A current picture

Your summaries are refreshed each year, so your board works from current information, not from last year’s.

Reflects how you trade now

A new supplier country, a new product or a new entity. The yearly review looks at your position as it is at the new date.

A year you can plan for

Each yearly review is scoped and agreed before work starts.

No internal hire needed

Customs expertise for your yearly review, without adding headcount.

— WHAT IT IS

A yearly review of your customs position, in full or by customs area

The Annual Customs Programme is the yearly follow-up to a Customs Review. Each year we review again your customs position, as at a new date, in full or by area: origin, classification, valuation, reliefs and authorisations, and governance. Each area ends in an updated one-page summary.

Your yearly review

Each year you can ask us to review all the areas your Customs Review covered, or only the ones that matter most. The review looks at how you trade now, including new products, suppliers or countries. The scope is agreed before work starts.

An updated summary

Each area ends in a one-page summary that you can put in front of your board. It states what it covers and the date it applies to, so readers know how current it is.

One entity or a group

The programme covers a single entity or a group of entities. The scope sets out which entities are included.

— WHO IT is FOR

Built for finance, logisitics and customs teams that want a regular review

Finance directors, heads of customs and heads of logistics in organisations that have had, or are about to have, a Customs Review.

  • Trades internationally, from one entity or several countries.
  • Wants to show its board a current picture of its customs duty position.
  • Wants the review of its customs position to be a planned part of the year.
  • Wants governance rather than transactional support.

NOT DESIGNED FOR

The programme is a review, not designed for specific support.

For a question between yearly reviews, or a question in another country, Customs Advisory is the best place to start.
